The so called week of "Love" has just come to an end!!
V-Day in India is no more a hype.
This year we did see a lot of action in the urban parts.
Many folks seem to be quite comfortable expressing their romantic feelings.
Quite a far cry from the scenario 4-5 years back.

My Reasoning follows...
Urban Indian youth have decent paying jobs, are confident and outgoing.
Most of them are away from home, from the gaze of their parents, nosy relatives and prying acquaintances.
To sum up, this is their chance to freak out and experiment on the relationships front.
Add to this the pressure to have a partner..created by the media, peers etc.

These, as you would expect result in bad relationships.
Most of us do not know what to expect from a relationship.
Looks like we are destined to learn things the hard way :(

There are tons of web space dedicated to bashing up the commercial aspects of V-Day.
I do not think it is all that bad!
Seeing the stream of ads makes you reflect on the health of your relationship(s).
The articles egg you on to express your feelings..leading to open and frank communication.
This is a big positive if you ask me.
Finally a lot of people get to have a good time :)
The others continue to bask by putting up a pretense about how they are not for celebrating this occasion.
